It’s Day 5 and today, entrepreneur Lizy Irvine is sharing her morning with us. (If you haven’t already joined the challenge and you’d like to learn more about how routines can help you meet your goals, visit this link for instructions and to get your free Catalyst Morning Challenge journal).
Lizy is a Senior Loan Office with Guild Mortgage, one of the largest independent lenders in the country, and she heads the Number 1 Female-Led Mortgage Team in her home state of Arizona for the second year in a row according to Scotsman Guide Top Originators. She was also 16th out of 3,000 entrants for Most Loans Closed in a single year, 33rd for Top Purchase Volume, and 55th for Top Dollar Volume.
Lizy makes her quiet time, spirituality, and intentions a priority before her hectic days begin. What’s the fourth step you’ll add to your routine?
Why is your morning routine important to you? A morning routine is important to me because it is the only time I have for myself to reflect and prepare for the day.
Are you naturally a morning person? No, I am not a morning person. I prefer to sleep 14 hours a day if I could, but becoming a wife, mother and successful business owner has made me pivot to waking up early in the morning so I can have some me time.
What are your “essentials” for starting the day right? Part of my routine does start the night before. When I am getting ready for bed I always have a detox tea and chlorophyll water. My morning essential is lemon water when I first wake up and I will have a green juice or celery juice after my workout.
My morning routine: I wake up at 5:45 Monday through Friday. I first pray and write an intention for the day. I then workout for 45 minutes, make my juice and then get ready. I always listen to a podcast while I am getting ready and then usually take notes about the podcast before I leave the house. I am very set on this routine because it gets me motivated and focused for my busy day!
Words of wisdom: The early morning is literally the only time you will find for yourself. The house is quiet and it gives you time to focus on YOU. If you struggle like me waking up in the morning start small like only waking up 15 minutes earlier than usual and find one thing to do for yourself! I promise it’s worth it!
