I did it… no makeup… and gross from the gym 😉 Facebook Live, that is. It wasn’t planned, but I was feeling incredibly frustrated about managing inner dialogue and how we can unconsciously adopt external messages.
The way we feel about and see ourselves, what I call the “inner brand,” contributes to how successful we become. If we lack awareness of external messages and their sources, we adopt those messages as our internal dialogue. It can happen as children listening to parents, and we’re bombarded with marketing and advertising that still too often sells products by making us feel less-than.
Couple this with the stress of being a woman entrepreneur and putting it all out there in mass media… The pressure is pervasive – we have to be the right weight, look “commercial enough,” have the right clothes, the right walk, the perfect words, the compelling message, the gorgeous headshots…
And, if our inner brand is experiencing conflict, our outer brand likely reflects it. If we don’t feel like we deserve it, chances are good that we’re sabotaging ourselves.
Which brings us back to my latest Facebook Live video where I *finally* become consciously aware of a horrible commercial that has been playing on a local network several times a morning for weeks in the background…
Remember, the only voice that truly matters is the one coming from within.
